The BC Lions Football Club today announced the signing of import defensive backs Josh Johnson, T.J. Lee and Torri Williams.
Johnson was signed as an undrafted free agent by the San Diego Chargers in 2013. A graduate of Purdue University, he started 36 of his 49 career appearances for the Boilermakers over four seasons recording 149 tackles, 31 knockdowns and six interceptions.
Lee enjoyed an impressive showing at a recent free agent camp in Seattle and joins the Leos out of Eastern Washington where he earned three consecutive All-Big Sky selections. The Seattle native appeared in 49 career games for the Eagles notching 182 tackles four interceptions and seven forced fumbles.
Williams was a free agent signing of the Houston Texans in 2010 and made one regular season appearance before spending the remainder of the year on the club’s injured reserve list. Other pro stops for the Texas native include the UFL’s Virginia Destroyers. Also a Purdue grad, Williams tallied 41 career games for the Boilermakers notching 121 tackles and six interceptions.
All three newcomers will hit the field in Kamloops on Thursday, May 28 in advance of Training Camp which kicks off on Sunday, June 1 presented by Sun Peaks Resort.
