Harris and Burnham: Injury Update

The BC Lions Football Club provided the following injury updates to running back Andrew Harris and receiver Bryan Burnham this morning.

Harris suffered a subluxation (separation) of his left ankle and will undergo surgery Tuesday. The Winnipeg native, was enjoying a stellar 2014 campaign, sitting fifth in the league with 652 rushing yards and a 5.3 yards per carry average, in addition to 529 receiving yards. He has six touchdowns overall this season.

Burnham, who made his regular season debut in place of injured Courtney Taylor, had a breakout first game in Week 13 against the Argonauts with five catches for 90 yards and a TD.

He suffered a minute laceration to his spleen and will remain under observation in hospital in Calgary. At this time, it is believed he will not require surgery and he should return to Vancouver later in the week.

Both players will be placed on the club’s six-game injured list.
