Micah returned to his original team as a free agent on February 11, 2025.

Highlights:

2023-24: Micah moved back West to the Calgary Stampeders for two seasons. The 2023 campaign saw a West Division and CFL All-Star selection as he recorded a career-high and single-season Stampeder record 134 defensive tackles with a career-best three interceptions to go along with a pair of sacks and a forced fumble. Micah suited up in the 2023 Western Semi-Final as the Stamps fell short to the Lions at Save-On-Foods Field at BC Place.  In 2024, the linebacker once again suited up in all 18 regular season games and racked up 69 defensive tackles and four special teams stops.

2022: Returned to the Lions as a free agent and suited up in the regular season opener while recording one special teams tackle. Micah was then released by the team and signed with Montreal for the final 13 games and racked up 47 defensive tackles, one interception and a forced fumble.

2021: Signed with the Ottawa REDBLACKS as a free agent and recorded a new career-best 74 defensive tackles to go with three sacks and two forced fumbles across 14 regular season contests.

2020: Micah signed as a free agent with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers but didn’t see any action with the team after the season’s cancellation due to COVID-19.

2018: Micah’s solid rookie campaign earned him a contract with the New York Jets on February 1. He was released by the team on April 28 and returned to the Lions in late August. In seven games that season, Micah had 31 defensive tackles and made his playoff debut in the Eastern Semi-Final at Hamilton.

2017: Moved north to the Lions and served as one of the brightest newcomers in training camp before appearing in 16 regular season games with 70 total tackles (54 defence, 16 special teams) and a forced fumble.

2016: Signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as a non-drafted free agent and was waived from the practice squad on September 10.

College:

2012-15: Micah suited up in 46 games at Texas Tech and was named all-Big 12 honourable mention as a senior after leading the Red Raiders with 126 tackles. Awe finished his collegiate career with 237 total tackles including 159 solo stops, 9.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, one forced fumble and six passes defended. He had a career-high 14 tackles in a 2015 game against West Virginia. He was a teammate of three-time Super Bowl champion Patrick Mahomes with the Red Raiders.

Personal:

Micah is an alumnus of Summit High School in Mansfield, Texas. In his senior season, he helped the Jaguars reach the second round of the state playoffs. Awe was born in Nigeria and moved to the United States with his family at the age of three. Off the field, Micah has studied to work in the oil business. His brother Andrew plays linebacker at Rice University.
