Acquired:

Patrice signed with the Lions as a free agent in May 2023. On December 28, 2024 he signed a two-year extension to remain with the team through 2026.

Highlights:

2024: Patrice enjoyed another productive season with the team as he moved to SAM linebacker out of training camp and went on to record 50 total tackles (36 defence, 14 special teams), three pass breakups and a blocked punt in 17 regular season games. Rene suited up in the Western Semi-Final at Saskatchewan.

2023: Patrice was an integral part of the Lions special teams in 2023. He suited up 16 regular season games and registered 12 special teams tackles, plus a fumble recovery against Calgary Stampeders in Week 10. Patrice also debuted in CFL playoffs against Calgary for the Western Division Semi-Final and Western Division Final against his former team Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

2021-22: Patrice was selected in round three (21st overall) by Winnipeg in the 2021 CFL Draft. After his first season was cut short due to injury, the Ottawa native made his CFL debut in a win over Calgary on August 25, 2022. He would then miss the rest of the Blue Bombers’ season with a knee injury.

College:

2021: Patrice moved to Rutgers for his senior season, recording eight tackles across five games.

2016-20: Suited up in 45 games with North Carolina and registered 104 total tackles, four tackles for a loss, a pair of interceptions, 14 pass breakups plus a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. His 2020 campaign wrapped up with an appearance in the Orange Bowl against Texas A&M. That season, he would tally 28 tackles, two tackles for a loss, four pass breakups and one forced fumble.
