One lucky season ticket holder drove away a winner Sunday, claiming a 2015 Nissan Titan as her prize. Jenny Pederson drew the lucky key to her new ride during the BC Lions giveaway event at Pan Pacific Nissan in Richmond. The opportunity to win the grand prize was one of the many benefits of purchasing 2014 season tickets before the early bird deadline on January 30th.
Each fan, new or renewing, was placed in a draw for the Titan once they purchased their 2015 seats. Starting in September, two names were drawn each month up to the final renewal deadline January 30th. The contest culminated on Saturday morning, when eight season ticket holders and their guests arrived at the dealership for a night of good food, good company, and a chance to win a beautiful white, fully loaded Titan truck.
Eight keys were laid out and the first name drawn from our inital round was given first choice of keys. Each contestant took a chance a gabbing the lucky one and one by one began trying to start the Titan. Last year, it went right down to the wire with the second-to-last contestant taking home the prize. This year, in a proof-positive of why it’s always good to book early, the truck went to the second contestant to try her key.
Jenny, who’s been a season ticket holder since 2011, said she picked her key completely at random. “I’m almost too short,” she joked. I’ll need a step ladder to get in!”
We think she’ll manage just fine.
