Elimimian double nominee as CFL’s Player Awards hit Vancouver

The Canadian Football League will celebrate the 2014 season at the CFL Awards Show on Thursday, November 27 in Vancouver, British Columbia as part of the 102nd Grey Cup, With BC linebacker Solomon Elimimian a finalist for two awards.

This is an opportunity for fans to rub shoulders with some of the CFL’s biggest stars while seeing some of their favourite players honoured for their achievements this past season. They also might witness CFL history, as BC Lions linebacker Solomon Elimimian could become the first pure defensive player to win the league’s top award, the Most Outstanding Player.

A perennial Grey Cup Week favourite, the 2014 CFL Awards will take place at the majestic Queen Elizabeth Theatre in the heart of downtown Vancouver. This annual event recognizes the achievements of our league’s outstanding athletes and personalities and celebrates the spirit of competition.

The evening starts at 5:30 p.m. PT with a red carpet reception. The show starts at 7 p.m. PT.

Hosted by TSN’s James Duthie, the CFL Awards Show will honour the Most Outstanding Player, Most Outstanding Defensive Player, Most Outstanding Canadian, Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman, Most Outstanding Special Teams Player, Most Outstanding Rookie, the Tom Pate Memorial Award, the Commissioner’s Award, the Jake Gaudaur Veterans’ Trophy and the Hugh Campbell Distinguished Leadership Award. 

Presenters include Ottawa REDBLACKS quarterback Henry Burris, former BC Lions Jamie Taras and hall of famer Lui Passaglia, hall of famer Willie Pless, CFL Commissioner Mark Cohon and TSN’s Kate Beirness.
