The BC Lions have selected offensive lineman Brett Boyko 14th overall in the CFL Draft.
Originally a quarterback and defensive lineman in high school in Saskatoon, Boyko converted to offensive line after joining the Rebels.
As a senior last season, Boyko was named to the Second-Team All-Mountain West after starting every game. He moved to left guard from left tackle midseason to help the team’s depth and allowed only one quarterback sack.
Boyko’s talent isn’t only limited to the football field. A four-time honouree of the Academic All-Mountain West, Boyko’s academic prowess was also evident as a member of the UNLV Dean’s Honour List last year.
BC Lions Training Camp presented by Sun Peaks Resort begins on Sunday, May 31 in Kamloops, BC. Click HERE for the full schedule.
