The players started the day off around noon for walk-throughs as the grey clouds began rolling in at Hillside Stadium on day three of Training Camp.
By the afternoon, the rain began to pour down, causing slippery playing conditions. Regardless, the players looked unaffected and focused as they spent the next two hours on the field.
Today’s practice was an eventful and exciting one, especially on the defensive side. Here are the players that stood out today:
Offence:
Austin Collie looked sharp at practice, catching balls effortlessly during drills and running some great routes while going against the defensive backs during one on one play. Terence Jeffers-Harris had a good first day of camp as well with some nice grabs during practice.
After the 1-on-1 session, Andrew Harris was quick on his feet, making good cuts and whizzing past the defence during team play. Meanwhile, Micah Hatfield also had a great catch along the sidelines to cap off the highlights on the offensive side.
Defence:
The defence was on fire today, recording several knockdowns and picks throughout the practice. During skelly, Chris Rwabukamba recorded a pick, while Ronnie Yell also had a near pick as well and showed his quick feet and athleticism on the field.
During team, Myron Lewis had a pick while Josh Johnson had an excellent day with two picks and a near third pick to lead the defence during practice.
Quotes of note:
Defensive coordinator, Mark Washington: “Today with the weather change, I don’t think that affected the guys at all. The focus was what we needed, really. You want some kind of distraction like this sometimes, I don’t even think the guys saw it.”
