Lulay named CFL Top Performer for Wk 3

After leading the BC Lions to one of the club’s most memorable regular season wins at home with a 35-32 overtime victory over the Saskatchewan Roughriders last Friday, quarterback Travis Lulay has earned the Top Performer of the Week nod as announced by the CFL this morning.

Throwing for more than 400 yards for just the second time in his career (first since 2010), Lulay led a fourth quarter Lions resurgence which included two TD tosses to fullback Rolly Lumbala and newcomer Austin Collie before finding Manny Arceneaux in the extra period to seal the win. Good on 34 of 44 attempts and compiling a quarterback efficiency rating of 127.5,  and his teammates are currently averaging 381.5 yards of offence per game, second-best among all CFL teams.  

Lulay has now passed for 658 yards while completing 68.4 percent of attempts so far this season with only one interception.

The Lions are back on the practice field this morning as they prepare for Friday’s a rematch with the Saskatchewan Roughriders which kicks off 7:00 pm PT. Fans can tune into the TSN1040 pregame show beginning at 5:00 pm.
