Purolator Tackle Hunger returns to The Den

PUROLATOR TACKLE HUNGER IS BACK

The BC Lions are once again pleased to team up with Purolator Inc. to play host to the annual Purolator Tackle Hunger food drive in support of the Greater Vancouver Food Bank and Surrey Food Bank.

The food drive will be held on Saturday during the Lions’ game against the Saskatchewan Roughriders at BC Place stadium and fans can take part by bringing non-perishable food items or making cash donations. All proceeds from the food drive will support the Greater Vancouver Food Bank and Surrey Food Bank.

At Saturday’s game, fans can bring non-perishable food items or cash donations to Purolator volunteers stationed at the stadium gates. In return, fans will have the opportunity to receive a digital photo with the Grey Cup and enter to win a signed Travis Lulay jersey. There is also a Twitter contest which will give fans using the hashtag #TackleHunger a chance to win tickets to an upcoming Lions home game.

Last season, the generosity of Lions fans resulted in a record total of 17,700 pounds of food being collected for the Greater Vancouver Food Bank and Surrey Food Bank.

In addition to the food drive, each time a CFL quarterback gets sacked throughout the 2015 regular season, Purolator will donate the equivalent of the quarterback’s weight in food to the CFL hometown’s food bank.
