DUANE VIENNEAU – President

2025 marks Duane’s third full season as club president after he originally joined the organization early in the 2022 season in a transitional role under former president Rick LeLacheur.

An experienced and accomplished sports and events executive, Duane came to the Lions from the Canadian Football League where he served as chief Grey Cup and events officer where he was responsible for helping stage not only the Grey Cup game but all of the league’s major events on the calendar, including the popular Touchdown Atlantic series which sa

w the construction of sold out venues in Moncton, New Brunswick in 2019 and Wolfville, Nova Scotia in 2022.

In 2024, the Touchdown Series moves west to Victoria, where the Lions battle Ottawa on August 31 at Royal Athletic Park. Touchdown Pacific sold out in less than one hour, shattering the previous record set by Touchdown Pacific in 2022. Duane was also instrumental in helping Vancouver land the 111th Grey Cup Festival, taking place in November 2024. That year’s festival generated $121.9 million in economic impact, according to a summary from Sport Tourism Canada.

In May 2025, the Lions returned to Vancouver Island for a pre-season clash against the Calgary Stampeders at Langford’s Starlight Stadium.

Duane also served as Executive Director of two very successful Grey Cup festivals in the 98th and 106th editions played in Edmonton. In between those two Grey Cup ventures, Duane was the Vice President of Marketing and Game Operations with the Edmonton Elks.

Duane’s expertise is not just limited to football. From 2005-09, he was President of the Edmonton Rush Lacrosse Club and later served as the President and CEO of the Tour of Alberta from 2012-17.

Duane and his wife Andrea have four daughters and make their home in Vancouver.
