The BC Lions Energy Champions Program presented by FortisBC is designed for children in kindergarten through grade seven to emphasize the importance of environmental responsibility and to promote being an ‘Energy Champion’.

The BC Lions Energy Champions program typically visits elementary schools throughout the Lower Mainland & Fraser Valley, Vancouver Island and Kamloops. Now, during these times of social distancing, the BC Lions are offering the BC Lions Energy Champions program virtually!

The BC Lions Energy Champions program has been modified from a 45 minute interactive assembly presentation for students in Kindergarten to Grade 7 into a 40 minute virtual interaction between two BC Lions player presenters on Microsoft Teams. We have put a further emphasis on how we can be mindful of our energy consumption and ways to save energy now that we are all spending a lot more time at home.

PRESENTATION REQUIREMENTS

• Microsoft Teams App
• Reliable internet connection
• A monitor or screen(s) for the whole room to view the presentation
• Web cam and speakers (web cams can be off or directed at teachers if all students do not have permission to be on camera)**
